3D Printing

Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) is the process of making a physical object from a 3D digital model. Our team offers a wide range of 3D printing technologies (FDM, Resin, Polyjet, CNC, and Laser Cutting) to produce stunning pieces of art. With the combination of 3D scanning and printing you can store digital twins of fragile, rare, and ancient historical artifacts. These technologies can also be used to help educate, and give hands on access to pieces normally stored behind glass.

FDM

Economical. Durable. Colorful.

Resin

Fine detail. Small Prints.

Polyjet

Flexible. Multi-Material. Textured Colors.

FDM

  • FDM technology is the process of making physical objects by building up successive layers of material. A thermoplastic filament is pushed through an extruder and deposited where needed in each layer to complete the desired object.

  • Each print job will vary depending on the size of the print, how much material is used, and how much cleanup/post processing is required.

    Material Cost = $0.20 to $0.70 per gram

  • Most economical

    High Strength

    Varying sizes

    Wide range of colors/finishes

  • Struggles with super fine details

    Small = 1in (25.4mm) x 1in (25.4mm) x 1in (25.4mm)

Resin

  • Resin printing lets engineers, designers, artists and hobbyists 3D print high-quality objects that they cannot get from filament-based fused deposition modeling (FDM) printers. The process beams ultraviolet (UV) light into a tank of liquid, resin, triggering a reaction that solidifies the resin into a hard plastic.

  • Each print job will vary depending on the size of the print, how much material is used, and how much cleanup/post processing is required.

    Material Cost = $0.30 to $0.70 per ml

  • High quality detail

    Really smooth surfaces

    Ideal for smaller prints

  • Limited color selection

    Isn’t ideal for large prints

  • Large = 5in (145mm) x 5in (145mm) x 6in (175mm)

    Small = 1in (25.4mm) x 1in (25.4mm) x 1in (25.4mm)

Polyjet

  • PolyJet is an industrial 3D printing process that builds multi-material prototypes with flexible features and complex parts with intricate geometries.

  • Each print job will vary depending on the size of the print, how much material is used, and how much cleanup/post processing is required.

    Material Cost = $0.34 to $0.70 per ml

  • Soft, flexible, and transparent materials

    Full texture color printer

    Higher quality prints than FDM, but larger than Resin

  • Long term exposure to heat, sunlight, and humidity can cause warpage and loss of strength

  • Large = 5.5in (140mm) x 7.8in (200mm) x 7.5in (190mm)

    Small = 1in (25.4mm) x 1in (25.4mm) x 1in (25.4mm)

Wood Laser Cutter

  • A laser wood cutting and engraving machine uses a high powered laser to cut or engrave shapes.

  • Each print job will vary depending on the size of the print, how much material is used, and how much cleanup/post processing is required.

    Pricing TDB based on project

  • Able to cut into wood materials

    Rapid and fast

    Good for large volume prints

  • Limited to cut certain shapes

  • Large = 4ft (1.2m) x 8ft (2.5m)
